Reports versus plans
A dated angler observation is labeled as a community report. Seasonal advice without a documented catch is labeled as a plan or starting point. Cast STL does not turn a forecast into a claimed catch.

A clear record of what is verified, what is guidance and what still needs confirmation at the water.
PRIMARY SOURCES
Regulations, closures, stocking programs, public access and facility details are researched from the Missouri Department of Conservation, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, park agencies and other responsible public bodies. Guides link to official sources wherever a changing rule or access decision matters.
Cast STL summarizes those sources for trip planning. It does not replace current regulations, posted signs, emergency closures or instructions from agency staff.

An “updated” date should reflect a reviewed change to the page—not an automatic date change. Time-sensitive event and regulation pages state when their official sources were last checked.
Correction submissions are welcomed. Access and regulation changes are checked against an official source before publication. General fishing observations may be attributed to the reporting angler.
AI-ASSISTED PRODUCTION
Cast STL may use software and AI-assisted tools for drafting, organization, code and artwork. Matthew Butler remains responsible for what is published. AI output is not treated as a source for regulations, closures, stocking dates or claimed fishing results.
ADVERTISING
Advertising, when active, is labeled and separated from editorial content. An advertiser does not receive favorable fishing recommendations, altered reports or control over guide conclusions.
